Description

Regionally Important Geological and Geomorphological Sites (RIGS) are locally important sites, selected for their educational, aesthetic or historical value by local, voluntary RIGS groups. There are more than 50 RIGS groups in the UK - the Sussex RIGS group selects RIGS in Brighton & Hove.

Although RIGS have no direct legal protection, they are protected from damaging development in Brighton & Hove by Policy NC4 of the Local Plan.
